Got a new toy today. A macro lens. There’s a whole new world to discover if you can just get a little closer…actually much closer. This is straight from the camera, playing around with the lens. I still have lots of practicing to do with macro photography. Fun stuff. TIA for your comments.

I stayed around the house today. Right outside my front door actually. We have some chrysanthemums plated outside which, due to our own ignorance, we had pretty much given up on since we planted them so long ago. Little did we know that it just wasn’t time for them to bloom as yet. Well they are almost in full bloom now. This image also represents the first time in a long that my 50mm came of my camera. This was shot with my 70-300mm.  I also discovered a plug-in that allows me to add borders to my images in aperture……I likey..:) A strange coincidence today was that one of the blogs I follow also posted  mums today. He did a wonderful macro though, which has me all anxious to finally get my own macro lens in a little while. You can check out his image here. TIA for your comments.

DP90: Reach out and touch

Took my daughter to a birthday party today at the Old Maryland Farm. We saw this little guy fluttering around. She was actually able to touch him. My little girl is getting pretty brave. The last encounter she had with butterflies ended with lots of crying…:) TIA for your comments.

After uploading this image, I realized it’s right in line with today’s daily shoot ‘How does your garden grow? Make a photo of something growing in your or someone else’s garden today.’ I like the contrast between the black and the yellow here. TIA for your comments.
